My Own Healing Journey

This article was published by Jo Ainsworth on her excellent website, SelfHeal4Me and is an account of some of the recent challenges I have faced.  I do wish to point out however my own personal understanding of what was happening in my family has radically changed and I do not use the terms mental illness when referring to the situation.  I know now it was all responses to trauma which can be complex and difficult for others to understand.  I fully credit trying to understand this experience and my reaction to it as to how I am now able to work with people who have complex trauma responses.

NB You will note in Garys intro that he advised more efficiency would be gained by tapping on specific events. Whilst I agree long term it is to be noted that my client feels if I pushed her that day to specific event I would have lost her. Working however with metaphors safely brought lasting relief on this particular issue, to this day 4 years later.
